The soda brand went undercover because it couldn’t handle foodies not enjoying their burgers with an ice-cold Pepsi.
Pepsi might just go viral (again) after the release of its latest stunt video. The brand strongly believes Burgers Deserve Pepsi, which is why they find it crazy that not all consumers are given the chance to enjoy their favorite burgers with Pepsi. The company is known for releasing brilliant ads that turned Pepsi from a cola to an iconic brand. These include the recent “Chase Cars” campaign focused on the delicious combo of pizza and Pepsi. This time, though, their ad’s underlying mission is to remind everyone about the perfect pairing that is burgers and Pepsi.

Pepsi tries to upend the status-quo as it went undercover at some of the biggest fast food chains that don’t offer Pepsi. Thanks to the viral “Chase Cars” with a built-in fountain machine, the undercover agents were able to infiltrate McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King. They used cleverly-designed fountain cups to help burger fans finally enjoy what they’ve been missing out all this time. According to the brand, whether you’re a fan of Big Mac, Baconator, or Whopper, you deserve to have your favorite burger with an ice-cold Pepsi.
The newest ad of Pepsi is all about revealing a harsh truth: diners at McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s are missing out on the ultimate taste experience. So despite the shocked customers and angry managers, the daring undercover agents pushed through with handing out Pepsi in disguised cups. This very move showed how any burger could taste much, much better with a Pepsi. The video, aptly titled “Undercover Cups,” is now up on YouTube, amassing nearly 350,000 views in less than 24 hours. The brand has also shared additional cutdowns and bloopers across its social media accounts, including TikTok, X, Instagram, and Facebook.
According to Pepsi’s Brand Marketing Head, Jenny Danzi, even when they’re not included in the soda options in some restaurants, they’re going to help burger fans experience the best food pairing. It’s one way for the brand to help you enjoy your meal to the fullest. She also shared that nothing could enhance a burger like ice-cold Pepsi because of its citrusy sweetness and brown spice notes. The ad should also encourage everyone to enjoy the soda with their favorite fast-food item every time they want.
More Updates and Deals from Pepsi
Tomorrow, November 16, is National Fast-Food Day, and Pepsi is all geared up to join the celebration. Restaurants that also offer Pepsi as their soda option, whether they’re serving burgers, tacos, pizza, or anything else, will also join the fun. Want in? Pepsi announced that tomorrow fans can score a $5 off their DoorDash order when they buy Pepsi in any flavor or size at participating Pepsi partners. These include KFC, Taco Bell, and Fatburger; watch out for details on minimum purchase amount and other terms that apply.

Of course, we wouldn’t want you to miss out on the latest item about to be released by Pepsi. If you haven’t heard yet, the brand is launching its Wild Cherry and Cream Soda in 2025. This new product will be available in two variants, regular and zero sugar. It’s a great flavor to try if you’re a fan of making homemade cherry soda or just love adding ice cream on top of your Pepsi. Can’t wait as well for the campaigns or ads that would go with the official launch – hopefully, there’s some to stir excitement!

From The Club
Pepsi, once again, has outdone itself. The entire concept of the stunt video was so cool, and the fact that it’s kind of connected to the “Chase Cars” campaign makes it even better. Also, spoiler alert: Coca-Cola makes an appearance in the video. 😂 You have to watch it for the full details and to witness how the customers reacted – many are bewildered! I mean…if a stranger also replaced my drink, I would react the same way. 🤷🏽
