If you’re planning tonight’s dinner or a simple home feast with your friends, there’s a new pasta in the market that could make your family or guests feel the holiday spirit. Say hello to Barilla’s new Snowfall Pasta, which is shaped like a snowflake. The brand’s new take on this limited-edition pasta is intended to capture the joy that winter brings us.
Each box has three snowflake shapes that represent the elements of the season and the ethos of the brand. First, the traditional represents the brand’s traditions or its roots in Italy. Next is the poinsettia, the familiar ornament that we place when we decorate our trees for Christmas. It is said to represent the joy that we are about to feel this season. The flake with the heart in the middle represents love, which doesn’t just speak about the emotion but also Barilla’s motto, which is “A Sign of Love.”
The pasta is made out of high-quality ingredients, giving it an al dente reliable texture like any other Barilla pasta. With these festive-shaped ones, you’re bound to create your own mix of sauces in the kitchen or perhaps those classic pasta dishes of white or red. They can also be a gift or goodie inside a stocking stuffer for your friends who love to cook. But make sure to put them in those giant ones for the box to fit. 🤣
Angie Cotter, U.S. Pasta Category Marketing Director at Barilla, said that their brand has a long history of bringing people together for shared meals during the most wonderful time of the year. She added that it’s been magical for them to see their snowfall pasta to life, hoping that it creates memories together with their loved ones.
Unfortunately, we would have to wait until December for its release. Yup, we’re going to have Thanksgiving first. They’re only available at Walmart until supplies last since they are store-exclusive food items in partnership with Barilla.

Care for Some Pesto?
You’re probably looking for pasta ideas to make online, so why not make the classic pesto? The flavors are up to you, of course. It’s a good thing that Barilla came early and released pesto pasta sauces. Early last month, Barilla introduced three flavor varieties of pesto. Let’s go check them out.
- Creamy Tomato Pesto – If you love spaghetti, then you can get this Creamy Tomato Pesto sauce. It’s for those of you who like their spaghetti tomato-infused. The sauce is made from sun-ripened tomatoes and balsamic vinegar mix for a sour taste. To make it creamy, Grana Padano and Pecorino Romano cheeses are added to the sauce.
- Sweet and Spicy Pepper Pesto – If you can’t decide on a sweet or spicy pasta, you can go both ways with this sauce. It combines fresh Italian grated cheeses withered and chili peppers for a sweet but fiery pesto taste.
- Vegan Pesto – This sauce is made if you don’t want any cheese on your pesto. It’s made out of 100% Italian basil that is made thick and creamy to enjoy the base leaves even without the creamy cheese. You may also choose to create your own blend with different spices and then mix them in Vegan Pesto.

I’m a huge fan of thick al dente pasta! I can even eat them without sauce, but I wouldn’t mind some Sweet and Spicy Pepper Pesto sauce. Barilla sure is taking us to holiday fun with their snowflake-shaped pasta. I can just imagine serving them for Thanksgiving or other feasts lined up this holiday season.
