The Origin Story of Nissin Cup Noodles
Nissin Cup Noodles is one of the biggest food brands in the world. They’ve been at the forefront of the instant noodles industry and have managed to stay on top. But did you know that it was inspired partly by World War II? Back in 1940, during the aftermath of the war, Momofuku Ando noticed that everyone was just eager to go home and enjoy a warm bowl of ramen. And since everyone wanted to have ramen, most ramen shops were swamped and had really long queues. So he decided to create a product that would both be affordable and easy to prepare, leading to the birth of instant noodles. In 1958, he established his first brand with Chikin Ramen.
Chikin Ramen was a runaway success. Everyone was drawn to its convenience, affordability, and delicious taste. While it was a massive hit, Ando wasn’t done. He decided to create an even more convenient version of his instant noodles that could easily be consumed by busy individuals or people on the go. This led to the creation of the famous Cup Noodles in 1971. It completely revolutionized the industry and created the packaging innovation we know today. Since then, Nissin has created more and more new and exciting flavors, becoming a global sensation that everyone loves.

While Nissin’s Chicken Cup Noodles are definitely amazing, they actually released a variant of the same flavor with a few twists that made it even better. I never though I’d see the day where we’ll get a S’mores Flavored Ramen. This is something straight out of a fever dream! It’s an interesting combination for sure, but that’s exactly why this new product from Nissin is causing a stir. People who’ve tried say it’s one of the best. Guess we just have to see for ourselves.
