Mountain Dew fans probably knew how the brand became so associated with the world of gaming. In fact, it became an unofficial “gamer drink,” stereotyping gamers as Mountain Dew fans.
This all started back in 2007 when the Mountain Dew Game Fuel was released along with Halo 3 and Xbox 360. The successful partnership with video games and the gaming culture has brought Mountain Dew a longtime partnership with video games and the gaming community.
This season, Mountain Dew has once again brought back their special gaming series: World of Warcraft and Halo Infinite. Let’s take a closer look:
- Mtn Dew Game Fuel Citrus Cherry – If you’re a fan of cherry-flavored soda, then this is just the perfect flavor for you. It features the Dew soda that we know and love as it’s mixed with a blast of citrus cherry, bearing its color and taste.
- Mtn Dew Game Fuel Citrus Blackberry – This dew is mixed with natural and artificial flavors to give you that summer feel in the middle of the cold fall season.

Check out these new Mountain Dew releases today and unleash your inner gamer spirit. They’re available in both bottles and a pack of canned beverages. They were spotted at Walmart, Kroger, and Dollar General.
Let’s Unpack The Collaboration
Mountain Dew collaborated with World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, and other popular games online, so it seems fitting that they display them on their packaging. The promotion also features Rockstar Energy Drink and Doritos, where the brands allow players to redeem digital rewards by collecting points from the products that they purchase from these brands.
The promotion will run from November 4, 2024, until January 31, 2025, as they offer gamers exclusive transmogs, pets, and motorcycle mounts for World of Warcraft. The collaboration of World of Warcraft and Mountain Dew celebrates the game’s 20th anniversary. It stems from Mountain Dew and the gaming community’s Game Fuel that stretches back to the 2000s when Game Fuel became a staple in every tournament and E-sports event.

The gaming industry actually had a hard time gaining partnerships from non-tech companies. Mountain Dew’s ties with Microsoft started the trend of partnerships between large corporations and video games. Looking at the field of snacks and fast-food restaurants, many games have partnered up with them to release themed snacks and even go as far as the brand creating their own magical world in the game they’ve collaborated with.

More Beverage News
It isn’t just Mountain Dew; it’s releasing something new to add to your fridge. There’s a whole lot to unpack in here. Let’s check out the other beverage releases while you’re making your grocery list:
Starry
The new Starry beverage releases make the perfect drink this holiday season. Introducing the new Cranberry Blizz that will rival Sprite’s Cranberry flavor. Cranberry is a popular Christmas flavor, and it has been proven with the division of opinions among soda fans. Some said that they prefer the Sprite one, while others wanted to give Starry a chance to prove that they’re better.
Sprite
Sprite also introduced their new holiday flavors, which would either stop or continue the soda wars: Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry and the new Sprite Vanilla Frost. So, what’s the difference between this Sprite Cranberry flavor that soda fans are talking about? It all lies in the additional spices that are added in the Winter Spiced Cranberry one.
Meanwhile, Sprite Vanilla Frost plays on the popular Coca-Cola Vanilla flavor with hints of vanilla taste in every sip. But the difference? The citrus that you can only find from Sprite. Besides, they’re two different soda drinks.

From The Club
Mountain Dew is one of my favorite soda drinks out there, and I’ve known them to release a wide range of flavors to mix up their sodas. Although I’m not a gamer, I’m excited to taste the Game Fuel Citrus Blackberry as someone who’s a fan of any berry-flavored food and drinks. Well, the overall concept of the collaboration is cool, as fans of the following games can benefit from the rewards they receive in every Mountain Dew bottle or can.
