So, no one told you life is gonna be this way? I’m talking about adulting, of course. My fellow Friends fans know what I’m talking about! As Monica said, “Welcome to the real world!”
Adulting may give us the freedom that we wish to have as children, but at the same time, it comes with a big responsibility that we end up wishing to be children once again. The thing is, we can’t, but with our adult money (from our jobs), we can now select any breakfast cereals that we want. Yup, let’s just look at the bright side of adulting.
General Mills will be releasing two new cereals you’ll love — a throwback cereal and a themed cereal of a popular 90s sitcom that defines adulthood. Any guesses? Let General Mills take you on a trip back in memory lane just by sitting down in your breakfast nook with your bowl of cereal and milk.
Twinkles
General Mills has been digging up their cereal archives and stopped in the 1960s to revive the Twinkles cereals. Did you know that Twinkles was last sold when Richard Nixon was President of the US?
This December, General Mills is bringing back the Twinkles breakfast cereal, which features star-shaped sweetened corn cereal with a vanilla and butter cookie flavor. Present in its packaging is Twinkles, the original elephant character.

Your parents who had these cereals in the 60s may remember Twinkles’ storybook package boxes with flippable story pages at the back of each box. Sadly, the new packaging doesn’t include such a feature but will be a vintage-inspired packaging with a board game printed at the back.

‘Friends’ Themed Cereal
It’s undeniable that the 90s sitcom ‘Friends’ is still influential as it is back in its prime. The show has attracted a new generation of fans because of their comedic antics and how relatable the characters are with their issues from careers, love life, family, and finances. Because of its popularity up to this day, different brands have been partnering up with them to release their themed merchandise, and General Mills is one of them!

The gang of Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross is back as General Mills unveils their new Friends-themed breakfast cereals. The company is teaming up with Warner Bros. to release this limited-edition Friends cereal in celebration of the show’s 30th anniversary. Priced at $3.99 per box, the cereal features flakes with flavors of vanilla and coffee, which resemble Central Perk’s lattes. You can find these purple cereal boxes at Walmart this December.
New Cereal Releases
We’re nearing Christmas, so better expect Christmas-themed snacks to fill up the shelves of grocery stores. Early this year are winter-themed cereals that are perfect for the freezing season.

Post’s Limited-Edition Winter Cereal
Post has released two new cereals for us: Winterfest Fruity Pebbles with Marshmallows Cereal and Honey Bunches of Oats Frosted Bunches Cereal. The Fruity Pebbles one is bursting with fruity flavors of red and green with white marshmallows. Meanwhile, the Frosted Bunches features granola clusters mixed with frosted cereal flakes. You can get them both in select stores of Target, Walmart, and Kroger.
General Mills’ Festive Winter Cereal
Snickerdoodles are one of the Christmas snacks that we love, and General Mills is well aware of that, so they released the Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch flavored with cinnadust. But if you prefer warmer spices, you can go for the Gingerbread Toast Crunch, which features cinnamon sugar and gingerbread cookies.

From The Club
As a Friends fan, I need that Friends Vanilla Bean Latte cereal! Even though I wasn’t born yet when the pilot episode aired, I still feel nostalgic for the 90s to 2000s vibes it gives off. Speaking of nostalgia, General Mills went through the pop culture archives by releasing cereals that have something to do with the past. I mean, who doesn’t like a little nostalgia, right? Breakfast cereals, in general, have appeared in various media forms, such as in shows, movies, songs, and many more. I hope to see more of them released in the near future.
