Chips Ahoy! and OREO have been spotted riding the Fresh Stacks trend.
Grab-and-go snacks come in so many forms. Seeds, protein bars, fresh fruits, trail mix, you name it. But what about the classic ones like cookies? Is there a way for them to be more portable and easy to eat when on the go? Cookies in long stacks are not really ideal as a grab-and-go snack, unless your love language is sharing. Also, if each cookie isn’t individually wrapped, that’s a bigger problem. Open that long stack, eat some, and the rest might go stale. Thankfully, new products from popular cookie brands Chips Ahoy! and OREO are designed to stay fresh.
Chips Ahoy!

Chips Ahoy! recently dropped the same crispy and chewy cookies that we love but in a new packaging. Chips Ahoy! Fresh Stacks are now available, offering packs of Original Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies. The Original variation includes 4 individual fresh stacks, each with 5 original chocolate chip cookies. Meanwhile, the Chewy variation is a box of 4 fresh stacks, each with 4 chewy chocolate chip cookies. Both have been spotted in Walmart stores, and are a great find if you’re looking for snack packs that are convenient to bring while travelling. As usual, the original crisp chocolate chip cookies are perfect with milk and ice cream. Pop them in the oven and eat warm for a different kind of experience.
OREO

Another brand joining the fresh stacks packaging trend is OREO. The brand now offers OREO Fresh Stacks and Golden OREO Fresh Stacks. Both variations come with 4 individual stacks, each of them having five sandwich cookies. The Original OREO sandwich cookies are the same snacks you know and love—with chocolate wafers plus OREO creme filling. Meanwhile, Golden OREO cookies are made with two golden vanilla wafers with OREO creme filling inside.
Additionally, OREO quietly dropped its own version of hot cocoa mix, which fans are comparing to Dunkin’s OREO-flavored hot chocolate released back in 2016. The DIY version of the hot chocolate beverage was created in collaboration with Frankford Candy, and is “made with real OREO cookie pieces” as per the packaging. Frankford Candy is selling OREO Hot Cocoa Mix in tin cans, and in a gift set with 2 mugs. There’s also a Frankford Candy OREO Hot Cocoa Ornament that’s being sold exclusively at Walgreens and Big Lots. All new OREO products have been spotted in Walmart already, except the ornament.
Other Snack Options in Fresh Stacks
If you ask me, the fresh stacks packaging is kind of genius. Aside from keeping the food items fresh, it also sets a limit on one’s snacking. Too much of anything isn’t good, right? The cool thing is there are other popular brands using this convenient and practical packaging, giving you more options for on-the-go snacking. Here are some of them:

- RITZ Fresh Stacks Original Crackers – Packed for maximum freshness, an 11.8-oz box of RITZ Fresh Stacks Original Crackers have 8 individual cracker stacks. Each of these stacks has 13 flaky and buttery crackers, perfect for snacking, appetizers, and quick meals. One fan gushed over how helpful the stacks are for portion control because RITZ are so good, she could finish the whole box.
- Honey Maid Fresh Stacks Graham Crackers – Perfect for the holidays, these graham crackers are packed in 6 individually sealed stacks. Each stack has 8 graham crackers that you can use to make your s’mores. Going on a camp out? Just don’t forget to bring your marshmallows and chocolate bars when you travel with Honey Maid Fresh Stacks Graham Crackers!

I’m kind of getting obsessed with these snacks in fresh stacks! I guess it’s because I try to be strict when it comes to portion control, so these stacks would definitely help. I love how the packaging also ensures maximum freshness; it’s kind of a bummer when cookies get stale. And before I forget…that OREO Hot Cocoa Mix is interesting. Haven’t tried that combination before but it should offer a nice break from all the peppermint and gingerbread drinks out there.
