They’re finally here! The Reese’s Pieces in Caramel and Chocolate Cookie varieties have arrived in the USA. These not-so-new but definitely long-awaited flavors have come from Canada to share some of the goodness with us—the only catch is that getting them will involve a trip to Hershey’s Chocolate World, which is the only place they are available for now.
That’s right, similar to the Hershey’s Ice Cream Bars, the caramel-filled candies along with the crunchy cookies stuffed pieces are currently an exclusive at Hershey’s Chocolate World. However, the popular chocolate attraction is likely to put the flavors up on their online store, so maybe you won’t have to go all way to the chocolate-themed entertainment complex just to try them out (not that that’s a bad thing). Eager fans of Reese’s Pieces will need to stay tuned for the online availability of the newly arrived varieties, as well as for a wider release. Fingers crossed that an announcement for that comes sooner rather than later.
The Sweet Beginning of Reese’s
Reese’s is a subsidiary of The Hershey Company, but its beginnings goes back to 1928 when the brand was founded by Harry Burnett Reese. Reese was a former dairy employee of Milton S. Hershey who initially worked for Hershey’s dairy farm. Intrigued by the booming chocolate industry, Reese set out to create his own line of chocolates—thus the birth of the H.B. Reese Candy Company.
The Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup is the brainchild of Harry Burnett Reese. The chocolate and peanut butter treat paved the way for the company’s success while also maintaining popularity over the decades. Reese’s passion for combining peanut butter with milk chocolate set a new standard in the candy industry that led to a permanent partnership with Hershey in 1963, effectively making Reese’s an iconic confection in the history of chocolate.

Reese’s Inspired Treats You Might Not Know About
In September 2020, Reese’s launched Snack Cakes, a treat that mixes the brand’s signature peanut butter into a creme topping over chocolate cake, covered in milk chocolate. Fans went wild for it, their only gripe being its limited availability, as it’s not widely available for purchase in most stores. Fortunately, it is available online, where you’ll see all the raving reviews.
More recently, Reese’s also came out with a plant-based version of their peanut butter cups as a way to cater to vegan audiences and add to their growing list of creative confections. One treat that we hope will make a comeback this year is the Thanksgiving Pie that Reese’s came out with back in 2021. If you missed out on it, a lot of people did as all 3,000 units of the massive Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in pie form sold out in less than one hour. These innovative treats and novel creations from Reese’s speak to its mission to expand its product lineup. The Hershey Company shared that their aim to broaden their snack options is a way to cater to a variety of consumer preferences.
Why Fans Waited 2 Years for This Release
The Reese’s Pieces Caramel and Chocolate Cookie varieties were first introduced in Canada about a couple years back as a way to gauge how consumers might like the creative flavors. Surely enough, the test was a success and now we finally have them here after two years of patiently waiting.
While the exclusive launch might bring out a “so close, yet so far” feeling, the likelihood of these new flavors becoming more widely available in the future should build another round of anticipation and drive traffic to their online store. We see what you did there, Hershey.
The Reese’s Pieces Caramel flavor features a sweet and smooth caramelly accompaniment to Reese’s signature peanut butter encased in the crunchy candy shell painted in Reese’s colors. The Chocolate Cookie flavor, on the other hand, offers a crunchy chocolate cookie core, coated with the same creamy peanut butter in the orange, yellow, and brown candy shell. Those who aren’t near Hershey’s Chocolate World can look forward to a wider launch of these exclusive flavors.
From The Club
I’m not the biggest fan of peanut butter, but there are a few brands out there that do it really well, including Reese’s. I haven’t tried much of their Reese’s Pieces line, only because I often stick to their peanut butter cups. However, considering one of the flavors has a cookie center, I’m curious enough to try it being the cookie fiend that I am. I hope they put the flavors up online soon because I’m ready with my card details.
