In case you don’t know, the song line is from Charli XCX’s latest album, Brat. But we’re not actually gonna talk about how great Brat is (It’s really, really good). We’re talking about a green apple candy-flavored soda!
Faygo Beverages is also catching up with the fall spirit as they release the new Jolly Green Apple soda. Yup, you’ve read that right; there is a thing like green apple soda. If you’re curious about its taste, it is said to actually mimic the green apple flavor that we had as Halloween treats.
If you want to give this green apple soda a try, you can get them at first dibs at the Arts, Beats, and Eats festival happening in downtown Royal Oak this weekend. As for its nationwide release, they would soon hit stores by late September.

The History of What Brought Us The Jolly Green Apple
For starters, Detroit-based Faygo Beverages is the company that brought us the Jolly Green Apple. Would you believe me if I told you that they have over 50 flavors? Well, that innovation is all thanks to brothers Ben and Perry Feignson, who transformed their frosting flavors into Faygo drinks back in 1906.
The original flavors that we know of, such as Fruit Punch, Strawberry, and Grape, all came from the frosting that the Feignson brothers used to create the drinks. If you’re thinking of frosting on cakes and cupcakes, yup, you’ve got them right.
As their business grew over a span of years, they decided to add more soda beverage brands under their name. You’ve got the Strawberry soda, Diet Faygo, and Arctic Line – just some of Faygo’s known classics.

Faygo may not be your typical soda drink that is being served in your favorite fast-food restaurants but they surely gain their own fans and following. Pop culture has long been a part of Faygo’s brand.
In fact, if you hover around their website, there’s a dedicated page for that which features the brand’s Spotify account. Each beverage has an assigned song representing the vibes they give.
Taking a trip down memory lane, Jim Henson, who created the Muppets INC., also produced a series of short advertisements for Faygo Strawberry soda. They were played by puppets named Wilkins and Wontkins.

Although I’m trying to steer away from sodas, I don’t know why fruit sodas have that different pull on me! It’s actually the first time that I’ve heard of Faygo, and I must say, they’re a very cool brand. They even have a Spotify account that I enjoy pressing around. Imagine having over 50 beverages to choose from with different fruity flavors. I guess that’s the magic that Faygo gives off.
