It’s bright, bold, and totally 80s.
Looks like in 2025, it’s going to be 80s all over again. Yes, you read that right, and that’s the promise of the new flavor from soda brand Crush. You probably know Crush for its original orange soda, but it has enough variety for anyone to enjoy. Think sodas in sweet, fruity flavors of strawberry, pineapple, watermelon, and peach. However, for it’s latest release, the vibe is different. Here’s everything you need to know about this new Crush soda flavor with a retro twist.

Crush will be taking soda fans on a trip down the memory lane with its new soda flavor: Electric Blue Razz. This new beverage carries the decades-old flavor profile that gives a nod to the vibrant tastes and experiences of the 80s. It’s expected that Crush “Back to the 80s” Electric Blue Razz Soda will hit the shelves in July 2025, in 12-ounce cans. Also, the word is that the new soda flavor will not have a zero sugar variation.
Apparently, the lack of zero sugar option isn’t enough to make fans think twice about buying. In fact, they’ve been gushing over the new Crush soda, especially when they saw the can art. It definitely screams 80s, what with all the neon elements, purple-hued graphics, and vaporwave aesthetics. One fan even said that she would be buying it mainly because the can look so pretty. Others are hoping for wider release of the new Crush flavor, specifically in Canada.
With Crush’s upcoming Electric Blue Razz soda, it’s set to capture both new and existing soda fans and leave a lasting impression by blending nostalgia and innovation.
Why Blue Raspberry?

The new Electric Blue Razz soda, if you haven’t guessed yet, will have flavor notes of blue raspberry. I wish I knew why this came to be, but it looks like this flavor gained popularity in the 80s. The blue raspberry stood out from other fruit flavors because of its distinct blue color. Since then, the bright hue has been used in frozen treats like slushies and popsicles.
As for soda options, there aren’t many that carry the flavor profile of blue raspberries, which is a mix of sweet and tangy. There’s Faygo, though, with a soda that blends raspberry and blueberry flavors together. Meanwhile, Fanta had a Blue Raspberry soda released back in 2008, but only in Canada. It was also served as a frozen treat at McDonald’s, and got discontinued later on.

More Soda Releases in 2025
There’s no denying that berry lovers and soda fans are excited about Crush’s Electric Blue Razz. But let’s be honest…July 2025 is still a couple of months away. This doesn’t mean, though, that you can’t enjoy new exciting soda flavors. Because the truth is…there are plenty of other soda releases next year, and some of them might even hit the shelves earlier. Let’s hope for the best and spot these fizzy drinks next year:

- Dr Pepper Blackberry – Looking for something new to welcome 2025? Well, this new flavor from Dr Pepper is expected to hit major retail stores in late January. It’s sweet, earthy, and tart, and might have some similarities with Dr Pepper Dark Berry.
- Pepsi Wild Cherry & Cream – This is perhaps Crush’s strong rival when it comes to can art department. Fans shared their excitement over the new flavor’s visuals, but it’s flavor profile is also something to talk about. If you’re a fan of cherry cream soda, you need to try this.
- A&W Ice Cream Sundae Root Beer – Another nostalgic soda drop is from A&W, and it features the iconic root beer float flavor. Expect a combination of flavor notes from vanilla ice cream, chocolate, cherry, and sprinkles.

From The Club
I love all things retro, so I’m super excited about Crush’s Electric Blue Razz! Also, I have to agree that the can art is awesome. In terms of packaging, it actually outshines Pepsi’s upcoming cherry flavor (in my opinion). My entire family has been a long-time fan of Crush orange soda, and so we have high hopes for their 80s flavor. I’m a 90s baby but well aware of how 80s looked like in terms of food—snazzy branding and all fun. Crush’s Electric Blue Razz is already giving that vibe!
